Upland bird hunting is a very specific term. There are two kinds of fowl; water fowl and non-water fowl. Upland hunting refers to the birds that don't spend their time in water. A lot of hunters prefer this kind of game because hunting water fowl can be extra annoying. With upland game, you don't need to wear waders and stand around in ponds and marshes.
